Bewitched Whispers

An Anthology of Dark Folklore and Fairytales

Signus Magnolia #2

Folklore is no stranger to horror. Every culture has its monsters, its ghosts, its unexplainable creatures. Old secrets and beasts whispered about in legend. These stories passed on around campfires, in the dark of night, to ensure safety. To instruct. Whether to celebrate how the world came to be or to warn of perils, the lessons have been passed down time and time again, their knowledge wrapped in story.

By twisting old legends that were not horrific into such or exaggerating the macabre elements inherent in a tale, we alter the message. But the warning remains clear: there is danger in the world. Sometimes the monsters come from things we cannot understand; sometimes they are a familiar face whose true personality is finally revealed. Our past deeds will come back to haunt us, and there is rarely a reward.
